Welcome Back, HSD Teachers and Staff!
The Hazen School District welcomed all teachers and staff back to campus this morning as we kicked off a new school year! We enjoyed a delicious sausage and biscuit breakfast provided by Farm Bureau and a wonderful BBQ lunch served by Hazen Methodist Church. The BBQ was excellent, and the homemade desserts were certainly a crowd favorite!
Superintendent Mr. Barrett shared district updates during his welcome address, while Construction Superintendent Kay Spence outlined the plans in place to keep students and staff safe throughout the ongoing construction projects. Mr. Harrison and Mrs. Saranie introduced our new staff members, and Ms. Lisa Prince surprised employees with retention bonus checks.
We’re excited for a great week ahead! Join us tonight, Monday, August 3, for 7th Grade Orientation at 5:30 p.m. in the gym, and don’t forget Open House for all grades on Thursday, August 6, from 2:00–6:00 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, tour classrooms, and get ready for an exciting new school year!

The Hazen School District would like to thank Lane Harper, HHS Class of 2023, for all of his hard work in our Technology Department this summer!
Lane is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity and a minor in Mathematics at the University of Arkansas.
According to Mr. Nicky, Lane was a tremendous help with resetting and enrolling Chromebooks, repairing damaged devices, updating teacher laptops, and organizing the Tech Room.
Thank you, Lane, for giving back to the Hazen School District. We appreciate your outstanding work and wish you continued success as you pursue your degree and future career.
