Planned Power Outage
Entergy engineers will be completing repairs to the area of the accident north of Hazen Elementary School tomorrow, September 10.
A power outage is planned for approximately 3:45 p.m. and is expected to last 1–2 hours.
Mr. Barrett has advised teachers and staff to plan accordingly. We appreciate everyone’s patience as this work is completed on our campus!

Our monthly board meeting will be held Monday, September 14, at 6 p.m. in the Hazen High School Library.

HES Picture Day: Tuesday, September 15!
HES students are bringing home picture forms for Picture Day on September 15. These photos will be used in the 2026–2027 yearbook!
Order online using the QR code on the form, or bring exact change to pay with cash or check on Picture Day. Orders placed after Picture Day will be subject to a $10 late fee.
All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook, whether or not they are purchasing a photo package.

It’s First Responders and Military Night!
Join us this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Dorris and Betty Greenwalt Field as we honor our incredible first responders and military personnel for their service and dedication to our community and country.
Don’t miss the excitement as a helicopter delivers the game ball for the Battle on the Prairie!
Kickoff is now set for 7:30 p.m. due to the heat advisory.
Come out, show your appreciation, and cheer on the Hornets!

We have a lot going on at HSD this week! Don’t forget about our early dismissal at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, for teacher meetings and no school on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. Go Hornets!
